One such process is UNL firefly, an online enterprise portal that provides convenient access to systems from human resources to food services, from finance to payroll, and beyond. Who Can Use UNL FireFly?
FireFly is available to members of all units at UNL, whether you are faculty, staff, or student. While FireFly may not be able to do everything for everyone, you will find that it can free up valuable time and resources by handling routine tasks and freeing you up for higher-level work.
When you log in for the first time, FireFly will ask you for information about your role and responsibilities. This helps you focus on what’s relevant to you and provides a customized experience.
In addition, you can connect with other websites and applications you frequently use by importing them into FireFly. This saves time because you don’t have to log in separately each time. You also don’t have to remember passwords for every site FireFly will save them for you.
What Can FireFly Do For Me?
Before you can get started with Firefly, you need to log in with your MyUNL credentials. This will link all of your Firefly applications and data with MyUNL. You’ll be able to log into all of these systems from one account and easily switch between them; be sure not to create a separate account for each system, as that could cause confusion down the road.
Once you’re logged in, it’s time to learn how Firefly can help you. You’ll be able to get a full view of your business information and data at a glance.
For example, if you want to find out how many students are enrolled in your class or what their grades are, all you have to do is type that information into a search bar. If you need to contact one of these students, simply click on their name; then you can send them an email or schedule an appointment with them using MyUNL Calendar.
Where Can I Find The Business Services on FireFly?
You can find these and many other functions on FireFly. Start by clicking on Business Services under Business at the top of any page, then choose what you need from What’s New, Collaborate With Us, or Manage Your Account.
How Do I Get a Password?
If you don’t have a password yet, click on Manage Your Account and follow the instructions for setting up an account. To reset your password if you already have one, go to Manage My Profile and click on Forgot Password? Then follow the instructions there.
How Can I Add Business Contacts?
You can add new contacts from FireFly in several ways:
First, you can search for them by name or email address using Find A Contact under Collaborate With Us at the top of any page. Second, if you know their name but not their email address, simply type it into Find A Contact as well; we’ll find them based on their name alone.
Why should I go paperless?

The first thing you should do is get acquainted with your UNL firefly account. Once logged in, you will be presented with two main options: My Self Service and Business Services. Within My Self Service, you can access a wide range of information including basic contact information, calendar appointments, important documents, and an electronic signature area where you can complete electronic contracts.

UNL Firefly was developed by Nebraska’s public universities for Nebraska businesses. It serves as a single, online access point for anyone needing information on human resources, finance, procurement, and other administrative services that are provided by multiple departments across all four campuses of the University of Nebraska and Nebraska State College System. It is also searchable from any location where there is an Internet connection. The site is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
